Consider using an A/V receiver with component video or HDMI switching as the center of their A/V system. It not only enables you to experience HDTV in surround sound, but it can drastically simplify your systems too. With an A/V receiver as the hub of an entertainment system, you can simply leave your TV on one input (e.g. "Video 1") and use your A/V receiver to switch all other sources to that input.
Many receivers offer HDMI connections, which will provide you access to the next-generation high-resolution surround sound formats found on some newer Blu-ray titles.
